wien

we’ve been in vienna for 1.5 days now.  its a beautful, big city-reminds me of paris and rome- one of the capitals of a great empire.  our hostel is a short distance from the seccessionist building, which unfortunately is closed until tuesday so I may not be able to see inside it.  Today we went to the Leopold Museum and the Belvedere and saw a ton of art- Klimpt, Schiele, Moser, ect.  I finally was in a room with only Klimpt paintings in it!  I also discovered a bunch of new artists from the museums and wrote down their names.   It was all overwhelming but inspiring and felt like I’d finally seen some things I had been wanting to see since Ringling.  Walked around the centrum of the city afterwards and just got back to the hostel.  Tomorrow more museums probably and then a train to Budapest- where east meets west!
